Martine is a Master graduate Drama Therapist from Concordia University in Montreal in Creative Arts Therapies / Dramatherapy and is a member of the North American Dramatherapy Association (NADTA), as well as a professional member of The Natural Therapists Québec's Association (AQTN). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Theater from École supérieure de théâtre from Université du Québec à Montréal, as well as a minor in Psychology from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, an attestation of college studies (AEC) in Comedy from École Nationale de l'Humour of Montreal (ENH), as a comedian, as well as two college diplomas: one in Arts and Letters, theater option at Cégep de Trois-Rivières and the other in Human Sciences, Psychology option at Laflèche College in the same city.
During her master's degree, Martine completed two supervised internships as a dramatherapist with two different types of clientele. She has been an intern at the Miriam Center, in Montreal-based organization that provides residential, rehabilitation and professional, community and social integration services to children and adults with intellectual and neuro-developmental disabilities. She has also been an intern at the Papillon Foundation for Children with Disabilities, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide adapted services that enable children with disabilities to reach their full potential and meet the needs of their families.
She currently hosts the "Expression par le théâtre" personal growth workshop offered by the community organization Vers l'Équilibre, which has been working since 1965 to improve the well-being of adults living with mental health issues in the Greater Montreal area.
Martine is also part of the teaching faculty of École nationale de l'humour of Montreal (ENH), where she teaches once in a while, the Physical Comedy Clowning class (stunts /physical theater and comic, involving the whole body), as well as Clowning class, to students enrolled in recreational courses. She is also one of the trainers of the Corporate Physical Enforcement Team Building Seminar, also developed by ENH, as well as a guest trainer at the Summer Camp for Teens. She will also host, for the very first time, a workshop entitled Self-discovery through laughter, within this same institution.
Before devoting herself to dramatherapy and teaching, Martine was a comedian and actress. She has traveled throughout Quebec as a humourist (stand-up comedian) specializing in physical and burlesque humor (characters / stunts / clowns). She has participated in numerous comedy shows and numerous television shows (Le Grand Rire de Quebec, Le Grand Rire Comedy Club, On the way to my first Just For Laughs Gala, The Just For Laughs Mini Gala for children, The small cabaret of humor at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, etc.). In 2010, she was awarded the "Coup de Coeur Juste Pour Rire" prize at the Dégelis Festival of Humor and Song. When she graduated from École nationale de l'humor in 2008, she was "Coup de coeur of the Journal of Montréal" at Club Soda graduation's show. As an actress, she played the leading role of one of the episodes (The Marie-Eve Bastille Affair) of the program Un tueur si proche, broadcast on Canal D and appeared in numerous television series.
She currently offers, in Pointe-Claire (QC), dramatherapy sessions (individually or in groups) in private practice as a dramatherapist, as well as " workshops / seminar" as an animator and teacher throughout Quebec.
